Free Photo Guides

In 2008, fellow seascape photographer Brent Pearson started the Free Photo Guides Project, whose aim is to provide an open-source, collaborative platform on Google Knol for photographers to write photography guides for their favourite locations.

It’s written by photographers, for photographers.

This project has been quite a success, and has international reach, with a large presence in Australia and New South Wales in particular.

Being an avid outdoor photographer, I decided to contribute to the project by writing guides to Cronulla’s tidal pools, Avalon tidal pool, La Perouse and Bare Island, and Dee Why.

The Free Photo Guides Project is well worth a look for any photographers looking for interesting places and subjects to shoot.
